Technical Official Expression of Interest
Technical Officials are critical to the effective delivery of badminton events throughout New Zealand, ensuring all players, coaches, managers, parents, volunteers and staff have an outstanding experience that leaves them wanting more.
Badminton New Zealand are currently receiving expressions of interest from New Zealand Technical Officials.
Badminton New Zealand Events
- Referees - Badminton New Zealand will cover all travel and accommodation costs, meals both in and out of the venue, and offer an $80 daily allowance. Note, these benefits are for qualified referees only, trainee referees will still receive meals in the venue and may be offered transport and accommodation contributions, however this will be case by case.
- Umpires - Badminton New Zealand will cover all accommodation costs and meals in the venue. Badminton New Zealand may be able to offer a travel subsidy, however this will be advised when umpires are appointed.
- Line Judges - Badminton New Zealand will cover meals while at the venue.
NZ Tour Events
One referee and two umpires will be appointed to NZ Tour events.
- Referees - the host will cover all travel and accommodation costs, meals both in and out of the venue, and offer an $50 daily allowance. Note, these benefits are for qualified referees only, trainee referees will still receive meals in the venue and may be offered transport and accommodation contributions, however this will be case by case.
- Appointed Umpires - the host will cover all travel and accommodation costs and meals in the venue.
- Additional Umpires - umpires not appointed to the event may receive an invitation from the host specifying any travel/accommodation support available.
Finally, a reminder that these are just a few of the many events held in New Zealand. If you would like to gain additional experience, or would like to support badminton more, please reach out to your local Association or one nearby and their team will connect you into even more opportunities. This is especially recommended to those beginning their officiating journey.
