Technical Official Expression of Interest
Technical Officials are critical to the effective delivery of badminton events throughout Aotearoa, ensuring all players, coaches, managers, parents, volunteers and staff have an outstanding experience that leaves them wanting more.
Badminton New Zealand are currently collating expressions of interest from New Zealand Technical Officials, for Badminton New Zealand led events and Association led New Zealand Tour Events. If you would like to join us please read the below information, complete this form and then wait to hear from the BNZ Events Team!
Good news, for those that join BNZ or our Associations at events you get a few nice bonuses:
Badminton New Zealand Events
- Referees - Badminton New Zealand will cover all transport and accommodation costs, meals both in and out of the venue, and offer an $80 daily allowance. Note, these benefits are for qualified referees only, trainee referees will still receive meals in the venue and may be offered transport and accommodation contributions, however this will be case by case.
- Umpires - Badminton New Zealand will cover all accommodation costs, meals in the venue and breakfasts at the accommodation. Note, Badminton New Zealand may be able to offer a transport contribution, however this is not yet confirmed and will be advised when umpires ae appointed.
- Line Judges - Badminton New Zealand will cover meals while at the venue.
Association Events
- Support differs between Associations however this will be communicated to officials when you are appointed so that you can make an informed decision regarding your participation.
Finally, a reminder that these are just a few of the many events held in New Zealand. If you would like to gain additional experience, or would like to support badminton more, please reach out to your local Association or one nearby and their team will connect you into even more opportunities. This is especially recommended to those beginning their officiating journey.
Please complete this survey by Monday, 6th February and if you had any questions, please contact Sam Paterson (sam@badminton.org.nz) who can assist.
