New Zealand Secondary School Badminton Championship & Cup
New for 2026: Championship and Cup events
In previous years the entire event has been sanctioned as a Championship event by School Sport New Zealand. Given the recent changes to eligibility regulations for Championship sanctioning, Badminton New Zealand have decided to run Championship and Cup events cocurrently. This will allow composite teams to enter and compete in the Cup event.
What has formerly been Division 1 will now be the Championship event.
What was formerly Division 2 will now be the new Cup event.
Please ensure that your school enters each team into the correct event.
Information
All team entries are subject to the eligiblilty regulations for Championship and Cup events set out by School Sport New Zealand. These can be found on the School Sport New Zealand website.
All composite teams must complete the composite team application form available on the School Sport New Zealand website. Composite team application forms are due by Fri 10 July.
